Homes
SYOSSET REAL ESTATE has a history dating back to the 1500’s, used by the
Matinecock Indians for their hunting grounds. In the mid 1600’s, SYOSSET HOMES were built by the Quakers. SYOSSET REAL ESTATE was part of a 13,000 acre land mass Quaker Thomas Powell purchased in 1695 and made his home.
SYOSSET HOMES and SYOSSET REAL ESTATE were integral in the development of the North Shore’s Gold Coast. The
SYOSSET HOMES FOR SALE during that period included mansions on hundreds of acres typical of the Gold Coast Era.
WOODBURY REAL ESTATE and SYOSSET REAL ESTATE played a very important part in
the agricultural contribution during that period. The SYOSSET/WOODBURY REAL ESTATE due to its fertile soil was ideal
for farming and abundant harvest. The produce market was expanded in 1854 with the coming of the Long Island Railroad.
